What We Do
If your life has been affected in a negative way by pornography or sexual addiction, we understand. We have felt what you feel. We won't tell you that you're crazy or to just "get over it." We share hearts along with experience, strength and hope. We listen, we care, we empathize but we don't tell you what you should do. Together we try to work on our own lives within our specific situations, and to grow in relationship with God.
Email Discussion
NLP was founded in 1997 as an email discussion group and this continues as our primary focus. We share our stories, our experiences, strength, and hope with each other via a Groups.io private group. Groups.io acts as our listserver, accumulating our messages in a forum where members can read and respond on the internet, but also allowing members to receive the messages as individual emails in their personal email accounts if they prefer that interface. We can share as little or as much as we are comfortable with. Questions are always welcome; members try to respond, not with specific advice, but with their own experiences - what has helped (or not helped) them.
There are a few guidelines that are distributed to all incoming members. Some of these are designed to keep our conversations respectful. For example, husband-bashing (or "other woman"-bashing) is not permitted. We understand anger and a need to vent. However, nasty comments or name-calling are not necessary. Similarly, we do not allow blatant criticism or condemnation of any individual member or church denomination. We are here to help each other and not tear each other down.
